The 2015 report, conducted by the ANA (Association of National Advertisers) and White Ops, concluded that fraud levels are relatively unchanged compared to the results of a similar study performed a year ago. While bot volumes have remained steady, digital spend has grown, leading to an increase in estimated losses due to ad fraud. Criminals continue to focus their efforts on the most lucrative areas of the digital advertising ecosystem with billions of losses predicted in 2016 due to sophisticated fraud techniques. White Ops conducted the study from August 1 to September 30, 2015, analyzing more than 10 billion online advertising impressions across 1,300 campaigns for 49 ANA-member companies.
